The Dedication of the Chapel at
St. Francis Lodge
Dear Friends:
On Saturday, May 20, 2006 we dedicated the Margaret Manley Memorial
Chapel at St. Francis Lodge on beautiful Lake George, MN.
God really shined on us
that day. We had a great turnout of people from many different areas
of Minnesota, as well as the company of the Sisters of St. Francis
from Joliet, IL (the same order of Sisters that raised me as a kid
in the Guardian Angel Home in Joliet, IL, back in the 1960's). It
was such a blessing to see all these wonderful people come all the
way to the great pine forests of northern Minnesota to where the
headwaters of the mighty Mississippi River are found.
Catholics,
Presbyterians, Baptists, Church Of Christ members, and others were
in attendance at the dedication. Many have also had a hand in
helping us bring this mission to this point. As one Sister said, "It
is ecumenical!"
Father Rolph Tollefson
took the four hour pilgrimage from St. Paul, Minnesota, to bless the
Chapel, consecrate the altar, and to say the dedication Mass on our
grounds. The sun was shining and the sky was blue as we held Mass
overlooking the beautiful blue waters of Lake George while we were
nestled among the peaceful backdrop of early spring trees coming to
bloom.
We invite you to enjoy
the photos from the dedication. Thank you again for your prayers and
support of this mission.
God bless you, your
families, and your livelihoods.
